After 10 years of operating as Las Vegas’s underground pizzeria, Old School pizzeria has expanded to the southwest, opening a new location in Mountains Edge Marketplace on Buffalo and Blue Diamond the same month as opening its second location on Lake Mead and the 95.
Southwest Vegas locals can expect to try their monster pizza slices with their choice of any topping, served on their homemade sourdough crust. They can also look forward to tasting all the unique chef specialty pizzas ranging from “Apricot” to “Vegas meets Italy” combining new fruits, meats and fresh veggies to provide locals with a new pizza-eating experience.
“There is this resurgence of passion toward pizza and we have been able to really shine, and that’s been wonderful, especially in this town,” says owner Gio Mauro to the Las Vegas Weekly.
Food in the suburban southwest of Las Vegas has been desperate for a new and unique pizza experience and Old School Pizzeria meets the criteria.
In an effort to provide the most authentic New York-style pizzas, Chef Gio emphasizes the importance of making good dough from scratch stating, “Unless you have the dough dialed in, nothing else matters.” To keep the recipe consistent, he has one person behind the scenes making all the dough and sending it to the two new locations to ensure the experience doesn’t change and the pizza remains the star of the show at every location.
