The Sierra Vista High softball team had very high hopes going into this season and won a tournament in Needles, California, to start the season.

Then everything was shut down because of the coronavirus pandemic. Eventually, the whole season was lost.

But that didn’t stop coach Raul Almaguer and his team from celebrating what could have been a special season on Saturday when the team held it’s senior night on Saturday in the school parking lot The team held a car procession to honor the seniors and the rest of the team.
Coach Almaguer had said previously that he had five seniors that will continue on to college softball, including: third base Ryan Watkins, CSN; outfielder Hola Rose Nakayama, Salt Lake City Utah CC ; catcher Aaliyah Medina, Howard CC, Big Spring, Texas; shortstop Taylore Edwards, Howard University, Washington DC.; and second base Jessica Schneider, Roosevelt University, Chicago, Illinois.
