A gofundme page has been created on behalf of Kirsten Winfield, Southwest Career and Technical Academy’s dental program teacher, to provide support for her and her families recent tragedies. On Monday morning, her husband of 23 years passed away and because of current circumstances, Kirsten and her family are unable to mourn their loss as a family.
The donations will also go towards her son’s chemotherapy treatments and surgeries, as well as the knee surgery Kirsten needs to fix her fractured leg and torn ligaments.
Mrs. Winfield was my dental teacher for my senior year of high school, and was the most inspiring teacher I ever had. She cared so passionately about the well-being of her students and completely turned the program around. I really can’t thank her enough for inspiring me to pursue a career in dentistry and for being so compassionate in my own times of need. She deserves the same.
Any support that can be offered to the Winfield family at this time will be greatly appreciated. We are living through such strange and unfortunate times, and now, more than ever, it is important that we help where we can in our community. No one deserves more love and support than Kirsten Winfield.
