On the wish-list for many Mountains Edge residents through the years has been a dog park in the community. In fact, a homeowners survey in 2017 generated a lot of comments about it. Now, there is an effort under way to make it happen.
The Mountains Edge Master Association has started an effort to raise $15,000 toward the cost of the park by selling donor bricks that will be integrated into the park. Bricks range from $50 to $250.
According to the association, the park is planned at the end of Nathaniel Jones Park inside the Maravilla community off Mountain’s Edge Parkway, west of Durango. Once the fund-raising effort raises the $15,000, construction will begin.
Those interested in buying a brick, or buying a sponsorship for other amenities, at the park, can visit the website www.MountainsEdgeDogPark.com for additional details. Anyone who owns or works for a business that can help with construction materials or labor, or who can provide discounted or wholesale costs on items such as concrete, fencing or lighting should email Gary McClain at gmcclain@ccmcnet.com.
